Blaze Alarms Ltd.

Terms and Conditions

A plain-English summary of how our alarm systems, security cameras and monitoring service work.

Last updated: October 17, 2026

Your signed agreement comes first. This page is a summary. If anything here differs from the written quote or agreement you sign with Blaze Alarms Ltd., the signed document applies.

Who we are

Blaze Alarms Ltd. installs alarm systems and security cameras and provides 24/7 alarm monitoring for homes and businesses across Toronto and the Greater Toronto Area. Our office is at 30 North Park Rd, Thornhill, ON L4J 0G6. These terms apply to services sold through blazealarms.com and securitycamerasintoronto.com.

Quotes and pricing

  • We give every customer a written quote before any work starts. The quote lists the equipment, installation and any monthly charges.
  • Prices on our websites are a guide. Your written quote is the final price.
  • All prices are in Canadian dollars, plus HST.

Alarm monitoring

Our standard monthly monitoring package includes:

Included Per month
24/7 monitoring by a ULC-listed central station $25
Private guard response for burglary alarms $5
Cellular communication line (no landline needed) $10
Standard monthly total $40
  • Your exact monthly price is shown on your written agreement.
  • Arming, disarming and notifications on your phone are an optional add-on at $12 a month.
  • Monitoring starts once your system is installed, tested and connected to the monitoring station.

Agreement term and renewal

  • Alarm monitoring is provided under a 36-month monitoring agreement.
  • After the 36 months, the service continues month to month until you cancel.
  • Cancelling during the 36-month term, or with less notice than your agreement requires, may mean paying the charges set out in your signed agreement.
  • Camera systems are a one-time purchase with no monthly fee and no agreement term.

Billing and payment

  • Monthly monitoring is charged in advance, once a month, to your credit card.
  • Cancelling your card or the payment authorization does not cancel your monitoring agreement. To cancel, contact us in writing.
  • Please let us know if your card changes, so your monitoring is not interrupted.

Equipment ownership

Equipment we install becomes yours once installed. There is no lease and no rental of alarm or camera equipment.

Warranty

  • Alarm systems: 1-year parts and labour warranty from the installation date.
  • Camera systems: 2-year parts and labour warranty from the installation date.
  • The warranty covers defects in equipment we supplied and in our installation work. It does not cover damage from misuse, accidents, power surges, lightning, water, pests, or changes or repairs made by anyone other than Blaze Alarms.
  • Batteries in sensors and backup batteries are consumables and are not covered once worn out through normal use.
  • We generally install and warranty only equipment we supply.

How alarm response works

  • When an alarm signal is received, the monitoring station first tries to contact you and the contacts on your list.
  • For burglary alarms, private guards are sent to your property. Police are called when a break-in is confirmed.
  • Fire alarms are sent to the fire department and medical alarms to an ambulance.
  • Response depends on the monitoring station, guards, emergency services, the cellular network and power. We cannot guarantee response times.
  • Please keep your contact list and passwords up to date, and tell us before testing your system.

False alarms, permits and outside charges

Some police services and municipalities charge for false alarms or require alarm permits. These charges are billed by them and are the customer's responsibility.

Moving or selling your property

Moving does not end your monitoring agreement. Contact us before you move. In many cases we can move your service to your new home or transfer it to the new owner.

Not an insurer

A security system reduces risk but cannot prevent every break-in, fire or loss. Blaze Alarms Ltd. is not an insurer. We recommend that you keep your own home or business insurance. To the extent permitted by law, our responsibility for any loss is limited as set out in your signed agreement.

Your rights under Ontario law

Nothing on this page limits any rights you have under the Ontario Consumer Protection Act or other law.

Privacy

How we handle your personal information is explained in our Privacy Policy.
